Cormack : Wobble Bobble

Current bubble bath bottle designs are cumbersome and unwieldy, their large rectilinear, blow moulded designs are hard to handle and are not very interactive in use. They also do not interact with the child or parent.

Due to the way that they dispense the liquid there is often a large amount of wastage, which is frustrating for the parent(s).

The solution was to incorporate a self dosing screw top to the bottle, this prevents wastage, and allows for regular controlled dosages. Squeezing the bottom section of the bottle forces liquid up the inner tube up to the dosage section.

The bottle is shaped like a penguin, the child is encouraged to play with this fun and interactive package design. As the contents of the bottle is used it, becomes a fun floating toy. Refill bottles can also be purchased, saving the valuable dosage part from being sent to landfill.

“Young preschoolers often prefer familiar contexts and visuals objects, and animals that they can verbally label, such as a cat, a dog, or a horse. They especially like nonthreatening real or animated animals, such as kind birds, friendly dinosaurs, and babyish creatures”.

  1. Good concept. Really nice Ai boards, obviously a strong point.
Penguin shape is fun and clever, smooth.
Your graphical label is cool and fun, seems familiar!
Lots of text on the problem/solution page, could be reduced; but overall a good result, well done!

  2. I like the form of of the bottle. It really 'talks' penguin. It seems really friendly and cuddly, which is perfect for a children's product. The presentation itself is also very clear and appealing.
I think the graphics should have been in colour, as at the moment it seems a bit bland.

  3. This is a very very good idea and very well executed. Dai has clearly done a lot of research into this product context and also the interactive elements of the design. There is also a lot of consideration into how the product will be used in the environment. Perhaps change the measurement from 1000ml to 1L. Nice work!

  4. I believe this is one of the best concepts in the class, the idea itself in the dosing aspect I see becoming a fun ritual for kids. The ai boards are also very communicative and engaging to read. The only thing I might say is that your second board is a bit word heavy.

  5. Wow this is a great design - it just an eye popping shape, and would be a great hit from kids wanting to use it. The only thing that concerns me is that it wont float until some/ majority of bubble bath is used and therefore cannot be used as a toy until nearly all used. It would have been cool if the material was slightly tinted with colour to match the liquid inside instead of a stark clear packaging. Well done though!
